Glad tidings of great things which shall be unto all people The gospel of Christ is marvelous to consider. It comes with good news to the human spirit that seems almost too good to be true. The gospel speaks of pardon for sins, and of a justification, whereby men are no longer seeking to justify themselves, because God is the justifier. The gospel speaks of deliverance from the wrath to come and of life and immortality, which can be tasted of now, in measure, by faith. These are all things that honest and good hearts earnestly crave, and they are the portion of everyone who believes the gospel. We cannot understate the matter, however, that the gospel has been given unto us to believe. As Paul, the Apostle declared, "I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believes; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek" (Rom. 1:16).
