The Banner of Truth was founded in the early 1960's by Fred O. Blakely and, for the first 31 years, edited by him.  The majority of Brother Fred's articles are timeless, as to their content.  The depth of kingdom insight and understanding with which he wrote certainly make them worthy of commendation and even very needful for the present generation of readers to consider.  Brother Fred constantly stressed the indispensability of believing, of using Bible words to talk about Bible things, and emphasized the bedrock teachings of Scripture such as justification by faith, salvation by grace through faith, the world to come, and being ready for Christ's second appearing. 

Something in particular, that stands out in my memory of Brother Fred, is that it seemed like he always was thinking about, and delighting in, some precious life-imparting facet of the kingdom of God.  You were always the better for spending some time with Brother Fred.  But lest some think that I am speaking to excess here, I will simply commend unto you Brother Fred's articles posted here, so that you may judge the matter for yourselves.  I also commend unto you the articles of the rest of the brethren here who are striving to follow his example of expressing themselves in the truth.

The paper is presently edited by me, Albert G. Stoner, Jr., of Merrillville, Indiana.  In the past few years Michael Zaucha has also been of great assistance in putting the paper together each mailing.  Recently we have added this website featuring both current and past issues of The Banner of Truth.   Please feel free to look around, share your comments, and read the articles in English in the issue files under Message Board and Past Issues. 

The name of The Banner of Truth Message Board's webmaster is Scott.   Al Stoner and Michael Zaucha are the moderators.  On the Message Board there now are over 800 postings by various authors all written for the purpose of ministering "edification, exhortation, and comfort" ( I Cor. 14:3).  We are constantly adding both long and short articles to this board, as the Lord enables us.  On this board there are also some articles in German, French, Kiswahili, and Russian.  We hope to add more entries in these languages in the coming months. 

To the left you will also find some very profitable links to The Word of Truth Website, The Word of Truth Fellowship, and Refreshing Waters Renewal by Given O. Blakely, who lives in Joplin Missouri. The Lord has given Brother Given some remarkable opportunities to minister the Word of God in his widely-circulated Thought for the Day and also in the group instructive sessions that he regularly holds with ministers of the Word on other continents via the Internet.

We desire to make known the glad tidings of the gospel, and look forward to communicating with you, our readers, to be comforted by our mutual faith, both yours and ours (Rom. 1:12).  Our desire is that The Banner of Truth Message Board may be profitable for encouraging believers in Christ "to continue in the faith" (cf. Acts 14:22; Col. 1:23).  "He that shall endure unto the end," Jesus said, "the same shall be saved" (Mt. 24:13).
